Academic Calendar

The Dietetic Internship observes all regularly scheduled holidays and vacations as outlined on the University Calendar; however, the internship starts one-week early for the first fall semester. Orientation is held a few weeks prior to the internship start date.

Master's Nutrition and Dietetics Option

Year 1 Fall Semester MS/DI

Interns begin supervised practice rotations one week before the first day of class per the University's fall semester academic calendar. Rotations conclude at the end of finals weeks during fall semester. Core dietetics courses are held on Mondays during fall semester year 1; rotations are Tuesday through Friday, with the exception of the Small Scale (Pen Court) Management rotation, which is Monday through Thursday.

Year 1 Winter Semester MS/DI

Interns begin supervised practice rotations on the first day of class per the University's winter semester academic calendar. Rotations conclude at the end of finals week during winter semester. Core dietetic courses are held on Fridays during winter semester year 1; rotations are Monday through Thursday.

Year 1 Spring/Summer Terms MS/DI

Interns complete core dietetics, elective, and other required courses and project work as determined in consultation with major graduate advisor.

Year 2 Fall Semester MS/DI

Interns complete elective and other required courses and project work as determined in consultation with major graduate advisor. Some supervised practice rotations, that do not conflict with course work, may be required.

Year 2 Winter Semester MS/DI

Interns complete elective and other required courses and project work as determined in consultation with major graduate advisor.

Masters Public Health Option

Year 1 Fall Semester MPH/DI

Interns complete a set of core public health courses, following the University calendar start and end dates.

Year 1 Winter Semester MPH/DI

Interns finish the core public health courses following the University calendar start and end dates.

Year 1 Spring/Summer Terms MPH/DI

Interns complete the core dietetics course managing a dietetics career and an elective. Interns may begin public health field work. Field work dates may be different than the University term start and end dates.

Year 2 Fall Semester MPH/DI

Interns begin supervised practice rotations one week before the first day of class per the University's fall semester academic calendar. Rotations conclude at the end of finals weeks during fall semester. Core dietetics courses are held on Mondays during fall semester year 1; rotations are Tuesday through Friday, with the exception of the Small Scale (Pen Court) Management rotation, which is Monday through Thursday. Interns also enroll in the public health capstone course. Some interns may complete any remaining public health fieldwork.

Year 2 Winter Semester MPH/DI

Interns begin supervised practice rotations on the first day of class per the University's winter semester academic calendar. Rotations conclude at the end of finals week during winter semester. Core dietetic courses are held on Fridays during winter semester year 1; rotations are Monday through Thursday. Some interns may complete any remaining public health fieldwork.
