Please note the current requirements for Florida WIC public health nutrition professionals:

  • Health Educators L2 (Nutrition educator) positions require a bachelor’s degree in nutrition or dietetics.  Nutrition educators are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition but are not required to be licensed.  Dietetic Interns are eligible for the nutrition educator position until they pass the RD exam.

 

  • Public Health Nutritionists are required to be licensed as a dietitian/nutritionist in the State of Florida.  In order to become licensed, the applicant must have already attained a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nutrition, completed a 900-hour preplanned supervised experience (like a dietetic internship), and passed the RD exam.  Registered dietitians are able to apply for licensure by endorsement.
